The following symptoms of high blood sugar are very important to detect early enough – especially if the patient taking Zyprexa has diabetes: loss of appetite, dry skin, extreme thirst, vomiting, nausea, drowsiness, increased urination, and dry mouth. These symptoms need to be reported to the doctor that prescribed Zyprexa. This drug is FDA pregnancy category C. It is not supposed to be taken by pregnant or breastfeeding women unless absolutely needed. If you think you need to be taking Zyprexa – talk to your health care provider and make sure the possible benefits outweigh potential health risks. You can take this drug with some food or without. Zyprexa is usually taken once a day, but your health care provider may have different recommendations for your particular case. If you suspect you may have taken too much of this medicine – seek emergency medical help. The following symptoms may be displayed: fainting, drowsiness, increased heart rate, aggression, slurred speech, uncontrolled muscle movements, trouble breathing, confusion, and agitation. Zyprexa is usually well tolerated, but some side effects are possible when you start your treatment. You may experience some of the following side effects that are considered to be mild and your doctor does not need to be notified of them: drowsiness, dizziness, upset stomach, increased appetite, back pain, weakness, constipation, dry mouth, and weight gain. Serious side effects, such as increased thirst, sweating, fever, suicidal thoughts, feeling light-headed, sudden headache, confusion, hallucinations, stiff muscles, loss of appetite, uneven heartbeats, and body aches, have to be reported to your doctor as soon as possible, as they need to be treated. Do not combine this medicine with other drugs that can add to the sleepiness, such as medicines for seizures, depression medicines, muscle relaxers, sleeping pills, anxiety medications, narcotic pain medicines, or allergy medicines,
